2014 - 2015PROJECT OVERVIEW
Vicente's Supermarket is a 32,400-square-foot international grocery store located at 160 Pleasant Street in Brockton, MA. Vicente's is a family-owned tropical and international supermarket chain specializing in specialty foods from Cape Verde, Haiti, Central America, South America, Africa, Brazil and Colombia, alongside conventional American groceries. The Pleasant Street location is one of two Brockton stores serving the city's diverse immigrant community, with additional locations in New Bedford, MA and Pawtucket, RI. The supermarket is positioned in the neighborhood adjacent to BNHC's pediatrics facility and serves as a community anchor on Brockton's Pleasant Street corridor.
OWNER’S PROJECT MANAGEMENT
A 32,400-square-foot, $5M commercial supermarket fit-up requires an OPM who can coordinate refrigeration, commercial MEP, food-service finishes and life safety standards for a high-volume retail grocery operation. Matt structured and negotiated the AIA contracts, ran the RFP and bid leveling process, managed the monthly requisition cycle, coordinated life safety and Department of Public Health reviews, negotiated change orders from a position of knowledge, and held the GC and design team accountable to the schedule and quality standards ownership required. The result: a fully operational international supermarket delivered on budget to serve Brockton's immigrant community.
